Taigum Child Care Centre is a not-for-profit, church-based organisation that caters for children from 6 weeks to school entry age. The Centre opened on 12th January 2015 and offers child care services to the families of Taigum and surrounding communities. We pride ourselves on our friendly educators with genuine warmth and commitment to children in our care. Our Centre provides a safe and secure environment as an extension of each childs’ family setting. We aim to ensure that your child feels happy, safe and secure in our environment. We provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea to all children. All meals are nutritious and prepared fresh on premises each day by our wonderful chef, allowing for special dietary requirements. We offer a great range of activities throughout the year for our families and children. Some of these may include: Light Blue Disco, Mothers & Fathers Day Morning Tea, BBQ Breakfasts, and our Annual Christmas Concert.
Our Centre Curriculum is based around the principles of play-based learning. We believe that children learn and develop through play. We provide experiences for children to enhance their skills through a variety of developmental areas. Children reach their potential through learning outcomes. Our curriculum provides opportunities for children to become life long learners. We encourage choice within our programs. Children are supported to choose what they would like to play with, learn about and participate in. Our staff engage with children in centre activities to assist in building children’s play skills.
We believe in an open door policy that encourages families to spend time at our centre. Parents and family members are welcome to visit our centre and your child’s class to observe them through the day, play with the children, read stories, join group time or spend time participating in activities with the children. We hold events through the year that celebrate the families at our centre.
